yvonne ashworth-thayer, a natick resident, is a trauma-informed massage therapist, who has been practicing the Healing Arts since 2004. she specializes in deep tissue massage, and myofascial release, and works primarily in the sanctuary of her clients' homes, and now at "the gentle place" in framingham.  she earned her massage therapy certificate at acu-sage academy in oxford. in addition to being a survivor, her full time career has been nursing since 1990, and she has also enjoyed the role of EMT. her other passions and hobbies include calligraphy, photography and singing. she recently began a Red Tent Sisterhood in Natick, where women meet on a monthly basis in a safe, nurturing space, to share their truths, rest, eat healthy foods, and discover their strengths through a union of women of all ages, stages, and faiths.

 

she served as a member on the executive committee of the natick medical reserve corps for 2 years, and still serves as a volunteer during disaster management.

 

yvonne recently completed a 27 hour course on domestic violence awareess training through DOVE (Domestic Violence Ended) in spring 2013. she volunteered her time

 at a recent WAVE (Women Against Violence Everywhere) cycling event in Ashland, performing chair massage for the cyclists at the completion of their route.

she is donating the gift of massage to BARCC (Boston Area Rape Crisis Center) for the 40th Anniversary Champions for Change Gala & Auction to be held 11.15.13
